Hello,
So I finally got my chicken run fortified. We have hardwire attached to the outside of the run, then we have hog pens attached to the run and then maybe 1-2 feet from the run we have an electrical fence. Of course, the top of the run is enclosed and on half of the top we have a black covering that will allow air and rain to filter through. I'm not worry so much about the top as I was about the 3 wild dogs that make their way onto our property every now and then, but the coop is secure as well as the run.
Back to my question, the title of this post: I currently have 6 chickens 4 are 4 months old (2-Easter Egger, Black Copper Maran and a Black Silver Laced Waydotte) and then 2 other Easter Eggers. I really want to get a couple Cream Legbar chicks. I know they won't be able to go out into the coop for a few months; they will be day old chicks when I get them. But my question would be; how do I introduce them. By that time, the others will be 6 and 7 months old, and the chicks would be around 3 months old. Its will also be very warm down here as I am in NW Florida and today it is already 81 degrees and will be like that for now on.
TIA
