Cream Legbar: dud or delayed?

I am only one year into chickens and could use a bit of advice. After rehoming a couple of Silkie Roos last winter I picked up a Cream Legbar pullet and another Silkie to replace them. (Ironically THIS Silkie is also a roo but that is for another thread. Arrgh!)

I did not get a hatching date on my Legbar but she was feathered in, yet small when I brought her home. Since then (first week of January) she has grown some and her comb has also come in more. She is a beautiful and (from what I can tell) healthy bird.

Bottom line, though... No eggs. None.

Obviously, not knowing exactly how old she is makes it hard to tell when to expect eggs from her. The only other breed I have kept is Silkies and they were laying around six months-ish. My guess is that my Legbar, Little Grey, is going on 8 months now. What is the deal? Is this normal for her breed?

Anyone out there familiar with Cream Legbars? Their rarity is making it hard to find out much of a timetable. I have her on a vitamin in the off chance that she is dealing with a deficiency.... Don't know what else to try. Hoping they are just late bloomers because I'm really anxious to see my first blue egg from this pretty girl!

All of my legbars start laying by 5-6 months of age, takes a little longer if they mature during the winter.

Thanks for the response! So you think things sound pretty normal for her? Is there any reason for a hen to just not lay? Like I said, I'm pretty new to all of this.

I would think by now she should be laying, but it would likely be difficult to find out why she is not short of an autopsy (which would be pretty drastic!)

Some pure breeds can lay pretty late.
Search for a legbar thread and ask there.

Is she free ranged? If she is she could already be laying, just have a hidden best somewhere
