Cream Legbar egg size ?

I have two Cream Legbars, 9 months old. They lay me beautiful blue eggs, one usually right around 51-53 grams and the other is generally between 61-65 grams. Imagine my surprise when I got a 96 gram then a 100 gram the next day, both from the 60 gram layer. I’m floored lol! I by no means expect this to be a normal occurrence but I’m curious on everyone else’s Cream Legbar egg size average and then abnormalities ? Pics are of 3 normal 60 something eggs then the two giants at the end

Possibly double yolkers or more. I think the record is 9 yolks in one egg, not sure how much that one weighed. It's a reproductive hiccup. Hopefully she will stop with them! So glad she hasn't become egg bound.

I think my largest chicken egg fluke was about 104 grams, also from a 60 ish gram layer.

Poor girls!

No CCL here... but so many other breeds, it is a semi common occurrence. Having lost 1 gal to egg binding, they make me nervous.

I had a couple of 100 grammers off a very large speckled hybrid of mine when she first started laying, she seems to have settled down to a nice 65ish now but all of the extra larges were double yolkers, im curious if yours are too?

Guessing 2 of your pullets laid double yolkers.

Are they single yold or double yolk eggs. My first 5 years with the breed the largest egg I got was 96 grams. The largest single yolked eggs I got was about 10-12 grams lighter than that. Then last fall I had a pullet start lay who laid 100+ gram eggs. I think the first big one I got from her was right around 100 grams, then I got another one from her 3 weeks later that was about 105 grams, then 10 days later one that was 110 grams, etc. At one point I had a whole dozen blue Legbar eggs that were over 100 grams and the largest eggs she laid were up to 120 grams. These were all single yolked eggs. We lost that pullet a predator, but the truth is I feared that we would lose her a bound egg or some other internal issue in her first year of laying. So our freak-of-nature hen is gone but we still have a few that are laying big eggs. I have three eggs sitting on top of the egg carton right now because they are too big for the egg carton to close when they are in the egg carton. They are probably about 85-gram eggs. I like the big eggs and cull anyone in the flock that can lay at least a 65-gram egg. Most of my flock lay around 68-72 gram eggs.

WOW!!! Mine were both double yolked...My girl has gone back to her 60-something gram eggs, and I'm happy about it, I too was a little worried about her getting egg bound, she's a small girl! Sorry to hear about yours
