Cream Legbar Pictures

Pics
Not sure where you are located, but I just bought a 1 month old trio on Sunday for $65 total - so you might be able to find them a little cheaper. Basically $32.50/female with a free male. They're beautiful and I'm in love!

I'd love to know that too. Is it possible / correct to have a gold crest and cream hackles? I have an 8 week old pullet that is leaning that way...
Don't forget to post your 8-week old!

Here are my monsters...I posted them someplace else but meant to post here.

"Bouffey the vampire Slayer" - her crest is too, too bouffant for my taste...she has sun-bleached because her crest was more the color that is above her eyes when I purchased her in April. I also think that one of her coop mates chomped her crest right behind the comb. -- Feathers - protein.... hmmmm. She is meanish. "big hair". big egg every-other-day -- started later by a month than my other pullets. (All of these did, I'm not sure how they were raised). I thought that they would have definite DIFFERENT genetics from my usual CLs.

"MeCre" - She is my daily egg producer...although her eggs are smaller than Bouffey's. MeCre - from "Medium Crested". -- She is a sweet-heart, but doesn't like handling...and she has shorter legs than the other two.

The last one is crestless. I had considered keeping her, to reduce the size of future Crests incase a lot of Bouffy-sized crests showed up in my flock -- but "NoCre" (No Crest) doesn't produce a shell on her eggs. One day I saw her lay a membrane-egg in the yard -- pick it up, run off with it and eat it. -- Sad huh?

So although the "NoCre" has the lightest neck-hackles, and the largest body -- she is never going to pass her genetics along. She also has a squirrel tail...but the best legs and body of the three. She is also the most friendly and curious. She also has some strange feathers that look a bit like hair. She must be a mutant.

sol2go -- any new pictures to post?

Funny you should ask, ChicKat, just this morning I was looking at my pullets and their colors. Even my light down chicks seem more gold than I was hoping for at this point.
GaryDean26 - I have used similar naming methods, I have a Ceecee for Crazy Crest.
I should be able to post this weekend when I have some help to get a reasonable photo or two=)

yay!! When you have a photographer's assistant - it makes worlds of difference. :O)

So sorry to hear that. Did you have any escape?

Lately coyotes have been bolder around here, lastnight the dogs were barking at one that just stood about 100-yards away and didn't run off. Partially here, I think the drought has made them more fearless, because there are fewer places that they can get water, and they will come into the pasture by the house.

I hope your little ones are all O.K.
