I have five chicks hatched 4/20. I am going to rehome them and want to be sure they are pullets.
I hope they are all hens. Thanks
The first light colored.

Legbars are sex linked so you can determine male or female by the markings. Females will be brown with a "chipmunk" stripe down thier back. Males are yellow. Easy.

1) Possible cockerel
2) Cockerel
3) Possible pullet since its darker but the white spot makes me lean towards cockerel
4) Possible pullet
5) This one has a lot of comb growth but it is darker so maybe pullet?

You'll be able to tell when they grow in their chest feathers (pullets brown, cockerels barred or lighter feathers).

Thanks. I was leaning the same way. I'll talk to my sis and see if she'll take them in. They can fly over an eighteen inch fence. So they are small enough to get through 2 by 4 inch fencing and big enough to fly over all my keep chickens out of garden.

I think the second is the most cockerel-like. The others look to be pullets. Eyeliner is a pretty big trait of female chicks. Can you get a picture of the tops of their heads? (Of the ones that aren't visible in these pics already)
