This is Rexa and Hedy Lamarr. My two cream legbar. I've noticed Hedy has a much more distinctive comb and crest than Rexa but they both looked like females after hatching and I know they're sex linked. Thoughts?

They're about 6 weeks old. I got them from a mom and pop feed store along with some Lavender Orpington and Cinnamon queens. But Hedy is super independent and the big comb leads me to believe cockerel, but the baby colors???

They may have gotten them from a bad breeder maybe? If you don’t breed correctly you lose the ability to auto sex. I would assume that is a male based on the comb. It isn’t as barred looking as a male should be though. That’s what makes me think again of bad breeding standards. Or maybe they are Olive Eggers? I know cream legbars are used sometimes to create them.

This is a picture of my cream legbar at 8 weeks. She is 16 weeks right now and barely has any color in her comb.

Hopefully someone with better knowledge of the breed comes on here to help you further.
