Cream Legbar with watery eyes

Sorry for your loss. He may have developed a secondary infection or air sacculitis. There are several bacteria that are opportunistic and can complicate MG. Those can be gram negative bacteria that might need a different antibiotic, such as bactrim or Baytril. Baytril is banned for chickens, but some vets may prescribe it. The only way to know for sure is a necropsy by the state vet.

Well, bad news. Its Mycoplasma. Had to cull her. More bad news...now my CL rooster is showing bubbly eyes and some swelling on his right side. So since there is no cure for this and any infected bird is a carrier for life, my options are to cull over 50 hens and roosters and start over after disinfecting everything after possibly months. Or just cull as I find birds showing symptoms.
Im very upset about this. I keep my coop clean and disinfect waterers and feed troughs regularly. I dont know how they got this.
All my flock was perfectly healthy until I started allowing people to come here to buy hens I wanted to sell. Im not NPIP certified but was planning on trying later. Now Im afraid I cant. From what Ive read, you can bring this with you from other places and spread it to other places on your clothes or shoes. I wont be able to sell anymore chickens or hatching eggs now. If this spreads thru my flock Im going to lose some pretty expensive birds.
I'm so sorry. I hope you find the strength to get through this. I'm rooting for you.

Im ok. Its just frustrating and upsetting that all my plans are now not going to be fulfilled. I was going to start breeding different breeds and sell chicks, chickens, and hatching eggs. Now I cant. I cannot, in good faith, knowingly sell a bird or an hatching egg that is potentially infected with a disease that can be contracted by a healthy animal. Oh, well. Maybe someones trying to tell me something.

Well...now I have another CL down with it. Just culled her and my Jubilee Orpington, and my CL rooster. Fine yesterday and today swollen shut eyes, nasal discharge raspy gurgling breathing.
I read @speckledhen Ten Commandments and realized this needed done. I didnt like doing it nor will I ever but in order to get it under control, I dont think I have a choice.
Im trying to do as much as I can for biosecurity. From now on shoes get sprayed with Lysol before and after errands. Have a dedicated pair of boots for coop only. Disinfect all water buckets on a regular basis. No new birds in none out.
I was going to take a bunch of roosters to an auction but thats out now. I just wish I knew how this started.

Sorry that you are continuing to see sick birds. Culling sick birds is one way to control the spread of a disease. Many people experience the same thing you are going through, and get disappointed when an illness throws a wrench into plans.

I am so sorry for what you're going through, but I commend you for not taking the roosters to auction and risking the spread of whatever this is. Good for you! Sometimes, the origin of illness is a mystery; all we can do is practice good biosecurity, hassle though it can be and limiting as it can be, and do the best we can do to keep things out or from spreading further. Again, my sympathies for all this mess you're experiencing.

Ive been out there six tomes today looking at them as closely as possible. Some that got close enough got picked up, much to thier dislike, so I could get a closer look. Will be buying Oxine as soon as I can afford to, but til then, will be using bleach.
