Cream Legbar Working Group: Standard of Perfection

Hi Flaming Chicken!!! I was so excited to see your response! I still have your number in my phone and think of you and your flock often :) We love Horatio, but re-named him Ref because he is such a good referee with the girls. Thanks for the update about their hatch dates.

btw - I just found out about a 2 day course offered through UC Davis (in California) as outreach to people who work with backyard flocks, and they were nice enough to ask a few non-professionals. If I find out anything that relates to "sinus" infections or home test kits I'll pass that along.
That would be great! Thanks!

pure creamblegbar for UK? Hes alot creamer than.my.first rooster?

the creamer of the two? Or the greyer? How should i introduce to my hens?

I usually put a new bird in a cage inside the pen with the birds they are being introduced to for 1-2 weeks before they are let loose. They get to see and eat around each other, and the cage gives some protection to both the new and old birds.

In terms of color, the ideal cream crele is a pattern where the lower half of the bird has darker wider barring and the top (hackles and saddle especially look lighter, cream barred with uneven gray barring). I encourage you to study the draft standard, a new one will be released soon. Best wishes with your birds!
