Here are this years pullets.
I was surprised to see them all come out with the dark grey crests this. Only two out of the ten hens that we breed this year had the dark crests. Last year about 80% of the pullets came out with the Cream Crests and 20% with the dark crests as expected. It will be interesting to see how the rations shake out in the spring for the next generation. Note: My wife likes the dark crests so she is pretty happy with this group. I prefer the cream crest but also am pretty happy with this group. They are much more consistent that what we were seeing 6 years ago.
