I'm a member of an art glass forum, and they have something they call the "Bathroom." It's an area of the forum that is used for daily chit chat, rants, non-topic discussions etc. However the bathroom toilet is "flushed" daily at midnight. This removes any lingering controversy from the previous day, relieves any previous rants, and starts a new day every morning.

I know we have "Random Ramblings," but this was just a thought.

That's an interesting idea- I'd like to see it in action, Poulet, what's it called?

I do some glasswork, so it might be a good place for me anyway!

Thanks! I do leaded, foiled and etched. Need to redo the sandblaster system though-

We'll definitely discuss it between the staff. There are some obvious concerns about people feeling it is a free for all and feelings getting seriously hurt because of miscommunication where a deletion of the posts won't remove hurt feelings.

Again, an interesting idea and we'll definitely discuss it.

Well my thought was there are so many "rants" that happen in Random Ramblings on a daily basis, that this could be an area for people to vent, get it out, and move on. And the flush would prevent any residual arguments or discussion on the topic.

I think that keeping those negative threads around creates a negative influence that rears its ugly head every now and then....

Might be helpful to make it clear that it will be a temp location that erases each night...

Here is the description of the bathroom from Lampworketc.com

"The place for venting. The Bathroom can become stinky! Attacks not permitted. All threads are "flushed" at midnight (MST). Access is granted 15 days after registration to members with at least one post."
