I am beginning a project on creating chickens that resemble Ethiopian chickens. In January I will be going there and hope to take pics for myself but for now I am going by those I have found. They appear to be only "types" instead of purebreds. Their chickens are given complete freedom and breeding seems to have little forethought from the owner. I guess you would call this a landrace type? To me they appear to have some game influence(malayoid?) but the massive combs and wattles throw me off. They also appear to have no game attitude though. I am thinking about using reds caps, game(of some type) and a dual purpose of some kind. Does any one have any suggestions as to what breeds to use?
