Creative Coop Names

We named our Coop the "Opry House" and all the chickens are named after a country singer.

I have two of my many coops named:  "Chez Poulet" and "Gallinas Lindas."   Those are the coops I built all by myself; French for the first, and Spanish for the second.  As my name is Linda, and the A-Frame coop is where the ladies like to lay their eggs, I decided "Pretty Hens" in Spanish was a good name for it.


Even had a BYCer commissioned to make the signs for me.

Our coop is going up on Sunday and I am thinking we will be calling it Coop-A-Doodle-Do.

Our coop is called the Slippery Lizard Guest House. Allow me to explain!

My husband's office is in a building that was an inlaw suite for the previous owners. It's its own separate building from the main house. We also do game night out there every Friday night - when we play tabletop games like Pathfinder with our friends. In our Pathfinder games, there has been a reoccurring tavern name "The Slippery Lizard". It's basically the Starbucks of our high fantasy world. So I got my husband a Slippery Lizard pub sign that hangs outside his building. It's basically a massive inside joke.

The chicken coop is right outside the building, so we decided to call it the Slippery Lizard Guest House. Finest accommodation in the land!

Since Chick-fil-a restaurants originated in Georgia and so did we, we thought it would be a nice little tribute to Truitt Cathy!
