Really? I have 6 pullets that are 16wks. I spend tons of time with them and dont really see something like that happening, but, you never know. The way its tore my money is on the hardware cloth.

Spend a few years here reading lots and lots and lots of threads, then you'll know better.

Oh MY teenager would NEVER disobey me, he / she KNOWS better!!
umm ok. Chickens fight, sometimes over the stupidest thing, and being girls, well, cat fights can get nasty, hair pulling, knocker punching. you get the idea. Chickens are no different really. they may not have all the parts humans have but will tear at each other just the same. I have seen one chase another one and grab mouth fulls of feathers and pull them out, and then tear a waddle....... girls fighting...

Was there evidence of blood on the HC?
My guess is it is from bullying. My hens can be pretty evil to one another and make one another bleed. I’d bet the cramming to one side is also pecking order type stuff.
