I am converting this dog house into a duck house. I've taken all the tin off and will be re-insulating it. Also, I will be ripping the top off and installing hinges on it so i will have easier access to the inside. While its opened, i am wondering if anyone has any ideas or thoughts on what would be useful to put in it or to add to it.

I will be cutting two slots at the top front and side wall to create ventilation, i will be laying linoleum to prevent the floor from rotting. The waterer and feeder will be on the entrance ''deck'' to prevent water from creating ice inside (happened last year when they were living in the chicken coop) and freezing there feet. Also, for extra heat i will have a wall mounted poultry heater inside.
Does anyone know if there is anything else my 2 muscovies will need or want or that will facilitate the winter?

That's a good idea!

I'm not very experienced on ducks, but aren't dog houses on the small side in comparison to duck houses?
Photos would help. :) (edit: I realized you did attach photos, they just aren't showing up.)

Thats odd the photos wont work. I will take measurements when i get home but the living area is around 4feet by 3feet and yes definitely will have bedding.

My two muscovies habe always lived with my chickens in the coop but chicken boredom brought them to bully my ducks and caused injury. So my plans are to make them this, make a little deck in front of the house and have them in my garage under full wind protection. Then during summer i will have the house inside the chicken run!
