You should put that thing on legs and raise it up about a meter. Then make one side of it open, or put a large door. This way you can scrape the bedding out right into a wheel barrel, no shoveling, no bending over. Also no bending to colect eggs. You don't want to use roof acces because of all the snow. Also you can pen the bottom in and the ducks will have a sheltered spot where they are still outside. Alternatively you could enclose the bottom portion and use it for storage.
