CREATIVITY WANTED! - Converting a dog house into a duck house.

@Miss Lydia since the OP has muscovy, would they need/prefer a roost bar of some sort or are they content to sleep on the floor?

I would add a door on hinges that can be locked. You may or may not always need it, but it's good to have that option. On my house I have the door hinge down, so it becomes a ramp/step, but I also like this because it's never flapping around in the wind.

Yes i was planing on adding a door to but i love the idea of doubling it as a ramp!! Also, my muscovies never roosted... ever?

Mine never roosted until about 3 yrs ago now they roost on one side chickens on the other. They will be fine on the floor. I am waiting to see if mine move to the floor when it gets real cold. Looks like you have someone already giving their approval too!

This is what i want to put inside. I didnt open it yet but i was thinking of mounting it to a wall

What are your lowest temps in winter ? Of course your colder than us but I would think as long as they have good ventilation in their coop and are out of wind they won't need a heater. After all they have down under their feathers.

Average -25 to -35 °C. My chickens combs got frost bitten last winter because i didnt put the heat lamps low enough and my muscovies got there webs damaged because they were messy with the water. And thats with 0 wind. So thats why im thinking or adding extra heat.
