Crele and calico?

to my understanding, calico is mille fleur with too much white.

Crele is supposed to be barring(same as on barred rocks) over a red duckwing. The name is often mis-applied to almost any barred chicken showing any color other than black/white.

Crele is a recognized variety, calico is not. I've never heard it as a mille fleur with too much white, but in some breeds that may be what they consider it. In silkies it is either (originally) splash with autosomal red or (later) grey with autosomal red.

A quick search on byc would have brought up posts and pictures on 'calico' cochins. I'd never heard of it either but that is how I found out the answer.........
