I bought some Crenshaw melons today. Do chickens enjoy eating Crenshaw melons, and are they okay for chickens to eat?

Fun story: I bought some Crenshaw melons at a discount grocery store yesterday. I asked the manager if chickens liked them. He said, "What?! These melons are for PEOPLE, not chickens!" I explained that my chickens are my babies. He said, "You certainly spoil them, if you feed them our perfect Crenshaws!" Later I ran into him in another part of the store. Shaking his head at me, he said, "I won't be able to sleep tonight, thinking about you giving our melons to your chickens to eat!" HAHA

People just don't understand how people could love a chicken so much. To them its just some dirty filthy mean egg laying meat making machine. So they really can't grasp the fact that their are people who love and cherish their birds.
Chickens can be as if not more affectionate as any household dog or cat but some people have never seen a live chicken in front of them before to know that and probably never tried happy healthy fresh hens eggs.

That is so true, GuessWhat! And the chickens really need melons this time of year to stay hydrated.
