Crest Gene in ducks not Homozygous Lethal?

Breed is Duck, either mallard or muscovy. Selected traits such as color, size etc are just varieties.
That's only in turkeys. The APA separates them into mallard derived and muscovy for species and then different breeds for the mallard derived. If muscovy and Mallards were just different breeds, they wouldn't make sterile offspring when crossed
