Anyone have any suggestions on how to keep the other chickens away from my crested's head untill we finish his new home we have no place to put him right now I was just wondering if i could put something on his head to make the other chicken not peck at him we have been putting neosporin on it. I stay out there as much as possible to try and keep them away they dont do it when im around now. Thanks Tonya

As far as I know there is no way. In order to be sure of good creasts & no injuries on the crested breeds they have to be penned seperately. Polish will pick at other Polish.

I got 12 polish chicks in my very first order last Spring and for some reason only 1 out of the 12 kept getting scalped. I don't know if it just liked getting its feathers yanked out of its head or if it was too stupid to move, but none of the others were ever missing a head feather. I separated her, let her feathers grow back, returned her to the main coop and within 2 days she was scalped again! I put her back in her own cage and as soon as she was feathered out enough, I sold her.

So even if I put my Polish together you think this is still going to happen? Oh my im so sad I love these birds and people that come over and see my chickens love them too. I thought a different coop and run would solve the problem.
