i just sold my last 5 khaikia cambells ducklings for $3 ea. but as i went to give them to the guy buying them i notice that 1 had a spot of hair on his haed that was fluffed up i tried to get it to lay down but wouldnt. the thing is i dont have crested ducks but could i have got one from 2 non crested ducks and would he have been worth more then a normal one would of.

One of the parents could have been a non-showing crested (they carry the gene but have no crest or a very, very small one). I had a crested baby come from 2 smooth parents & the baby had a very noticable crest. The price/value of it would depend on where you live, some places there are more people looking for crested duck and they'll pay a higher price, other areas they aren't as popular. check craigslist or anywhere else you can to see what prices are for crested ducklings/ducks.

hmm well ill have to keep an eye out when i hatch more ducks would be cool if it really was crested but it may of just been having a bad hair day lol. well i might have to call the guy i sold him to to see if the feathers stay that way.

so does anyone one no what the odds of getting crested would be if on of my ducks did have the gene but wasnt showing.

In our hatch We got 1 crested call duck. We call her Di Di. At first we thought she was having a bad hair day. Just adorable!
