Oh no.. what happened? What kind of boo boo is it? Have you put anything on it?

He slip in the garge and just lost some feathers on his wing. I've been putting neosporin on it and giving him antibiotics. The boo-boo is getting better other then now he's growing feathers back and now trying to pull them out. And all he does all day is twitch his wings. Do I just let him pick at his boo-boo or continue to stop him? Should I maybe wrap up his wing? I don't know what to do he just twitches his wings all day and it breaks my heart I feel so bad for my poor baby boy. Please help me with my questions I have to get my drake better.

You know for sure there are no maggots in the wound? In hot weather months wounds can get maggot infested rather quickly. And maybe the wound since it's healing is itching and causing the twitching. Does he have access to swimming water? You could try using warm Epsom salt water and washing his wing off with it.

There is no maggots in his wound. He's seems to only twitch when he gets wet now. But he's all healed up and on the road to recovery. My baby girl duck just started to lay eggs. 2 eggs in 2 days, but she's not sitting on them. Is there anything I can do? How do I know if the eggs are fertal or not since she isn't sitting in them? When do I take the eggs out of her cage and when do I leave them in? Since she's not sitting on them does that mean that they aren't fertal? I want a baby duck from her SO BAD!! Anyone with advice that can help? Thanks

Hey every body I have a question about my drake, every time I take him for a swim it seems like he's not producing oil on his feathers like his sister is. She can go for a swim and be dry with in minutes and he stays wet. Is there anything I can do to give him to help him get those oils back or is it like one of those things once its gone its gone. I feel bad cause he loves to go for dip in the pool and I know he hates it when I try and dry him off but I hate to see him walking around dripping wet. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas please let me know. Thanks

Sounds like your drake is molting, a slip and feathers falling out sounds like molt more than any injury and feathers regrowing so quickly, molt would also account for reduced water rellancy (the oils do not make a duck water rellent, it's feather structure, the oils help the duck maintain appropriate feather structure), and the wing twitching is entirely normal, especially for molting birds.
