RoadRunner is really a sweetheart, but acts very funny when a stranger comes round!!!
I'm thinking he'll be my guard chicken instead of the jersey giant,

Hi, I have been quiet but hooking all weekend while out at the farm cleaning angora bunnies and working with the alpacas.
.
I learned to hook from my gramma when I was 9, but never made a granny square. It took awhile to get one to come out to 6". Now I have 6 done and will keep on hooking. I also hook all over town. I ride public transportation to work and can do one square each way - unless its crowded and I have to stand up. I love this group of happy hookers.

I love the goat! I can't wait until my house sells and I can move to the country and have a couple of angora goats (I'm a spinner) and maybe some Cormo sheep and of course lots of my own chickens. My sister and I have 8 alpacas and 7 angora rabbits at her farm in Geauge County, Ohio. We will be getting 3 or 4 chickens in the next month or so from a friend who has more than she wants. I am so excited - well back to hooking!

Oh Bonnie. Alpacas! I just love them. If I were to get anymore 4 legged creatures it would be alpacas but I just don't think I could do it at this stage of my life. They are so beautiful.
And I admire your spinning. That's something I always thought I would like to try. Maybe you can show us some of your work sometime.

Welcome Bonnie, so good to have you. I, too, have a spinning wheel and a relative, who lives in Indiana, who taught me. I did it perfectly (so she said, and she teaches it)but when I got home I lost the knack!! I have to wait for her to visit me so she can reteach me. She has been in the country of Chile teaching the women to spin their own wool so they can sell it and earn some income. She is an amazing woman.
I am up to 26 blocks and with all this rain I should be able to put some more tomorrow.
Chatter-beak is making me a granny square afghan for my b/d in April so her byc squares are on hold right now but she does have some done. She seems to be "shy" about joining in with a chat with this group. Never has talking been a problem with her before.

Ozak Hen - Thanks for the welcome. I only took a few spinning lessons and bought my wheel. I have been teaching myself. You can go to joyofspinning.com and learn alot. I started with wool, but have been spinning alpaca and angora since we got our animals. It is like crocheting - the more you do the easier it gets.
