Yeah, I need to let my family know to save any clothes that are wool that they plan to throw out. My dad threw out a beautiful pair of nearly new wool gabardine slacks when we were on a trip because, when he put them on, they had quite a few moth holes.

That wouldn't have mattered at all for this project. I didn't think about it at the time. Doh!

I started one one time with extra fabric that I had used for kitchen curtains, but I do not know what ever happened to it.....

Very nice indeed good job ....

thanks, but it isn't finished yet. I still have a couple yards of the houndstooth wool that I used for the center. it takes an awful lot to go around now that it's a bit bigger. It takes a LOT of fabric to make one of these. I'm using wool, which is pretty expensive. I think I could have bought a wool rug for cheaper. we'll see what it looks like when I run out of wool fabric, which will be soon.

I'm going to make mine out of any material that i can get my hands on...
Or do we HAVE to use all the same material for it to look correct?

I think it just has to be about the same thickness. I guess you could also cut wider strips if the fabric is lighter-weight. That might make it okay.

Now let's see in the 70's I was in my 20's well I guess I wasn't a kid. LOL

I have some fabric that's cut in 1 and 1/2 inch strips now I need to get my GD to put them together and we can work on one. Boy I wish I hadn't look at this thread.
