My one regret w/ Pip chicken is that I didn't immediately start her on a chicken vitamin. I can't say definitively but my *fear* as she grew was that some of the problems we encountered could have been prevented or lessened by a vitamin supplement early on, before I knew how or if it would become severe. You may have already found it, but there is a thread for owners: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...-for-special-needs-chickens-and-their-keepers
I hadn't found that. Thank you! Where did you get your vitamin supplement and is there a specific name I should be looking for?

From what I'm reading they do take extra care and feeding them means special attention depending on the severity.

The only vitamin I've used w/ my chickens so far is the polyvisol without iron, as recommended by folks on this board. I think in Pip's case, I should've looked into one of the parrot hand feeding supplements... I don't know if it would have been right, but worth a read.

How is Tomato doing? Did her beak get worse, or offset?

My black frizzle cochin bantam is almost 4 weeks old. Over the last week or two I have noticed her beak is getting crooked. So far, it seems like both beaks are aligned. Do any of you have experience with this? Any suggestions for what I should do for her?

She seems to be eating and drinking ok so far... growing along with her flockmates (easter egger bantams... she's the only cochin bantam).
