Crooked beak

She is proving quite hard to catch right now but I checked her yesterday and it seems that her crop felt full but it was new to me to check that so hopefully I’m right. I haven’t weighed her yet but if she lets me catch her tonight I will try. Thanks for all the info everyone

That is hilarious

Yeah that makes sense I definitely don’t want to hurt her or overdo it, I don’t feel super comfortable to clip it anyways and I was hoping not to. Thanks for the info on that
Stacyyoung13 your little one is so cute.
Glad to hear she seems to be doing good!
It takes a while to get the hang of crop fill. Compare her to the others. Not everyone will have the same, but if you are feeling food in there before she goes to bed that's good.

I don't know what your coop set-up is like, but if you have a way to reach or walk in to them while they are roosting, it's much easier to feel the crop that way instead of trying to catch them.

Yeah that’s the only way I’ve been successful at all is at night when they are sleepy or roosting. Unfortunately in my coop intend to wake them up as I enter the area. I’m trying to get them to start coming to treats though and sometimes can catch her.

If i weigh her regularly how much would be a good gain? Or is it just good thy she IS gaining. Right now she’s 1lb 4.9oz

She is cute isn't she:)
I would just weigh her regularly to be sure she's gaining. Weights vary so much even within a breed, it's very hard to know what weight she will eventually be.
