I have a chick who I think is about a week old - she's got quite a few feathers on her wings already. She's been very lethargic for the past 24 hours and I've noticed that she stands and leans against the side of the brooder. I posted on the sick board because I didn't know what was going on, but haven't had any responses that answer my question.

When I picked her up tonight, I examined her and noticed that she has a lump on her right side. She is more lethargic this evening than she was this morning.

Is it possible that she has an impacted crop? If so - how much oil should I try to give her? Everything that I've read so far is about adult chickens not chicks.

Thanks - I'm new to the chick thing and loving it.

I'm new too. Last night I noticed a lump on my chick about a 1/4" from her beak, also on the right side. Also, she has been really lethargic as well, but doesn't act sickly or anything. Still, it's got me worried. If you find out anything, I'd be interested in hearing about it.
