She had surgery a week ago and has been on soft foods. Vet removed a mass of mostly straw. Obviously, I got rid of the straw.

She's been in the house this whole time and staples come out at the end of this week. However, her crop is not emptying overnight. It goes down overnight, but it's not emptying. Vet hasn't been in office since surgery day and won't be until end of the week.

Thoughts? Anything I can do?

If you restrict food for a day does it go down? Does she have 24/7 access to food or is she fed on a schedule? How does her breath smell?

If she has access 24/7 she might just be eating often enough it never fully empties. I would try fasting her for 12-24 hours (with access to water of course) to see if it empties and then go from there.

She does not have 24/7 access. No food at night but also have been feeding her small meals throughout the day. No unlimited access right now, ever.

That's probably for the best if she has a history of crop problems. I would still try fasting her for a day to see if it goes down like what they do to empty meat bird crops.

She never had crop issues before this. I'm definitely worried as to why it's not resolved by now too as I hoped she could go back outside and free range again this weekend.
