Crop Stasis-Vet Treatment

Glad to hear this. Yay, Remi! I have a girl with a crop issue who is wasting away (she's lost about a third of her body weight). I have a feeling crop surgery may be in her future. May I ask what it cost?
Surgery for my chicken was $600, initial visit with exam, labs and attempt to empty her crop with a tube was around $350...she spent 1 night at the vet

Update...10 days post surgery and Remi is doing fantastic. Her wound has healed nicely and her crop has been empty every morning. She is acting like her normal self, and stuffing her crop full each night!! I love this little girl!

I was not able to have children, so my animals are like my kids. I figured I'm getting off pretty cheap being since I don't have to pay for college, car insurance, prom, weddings etc...
Unfortunately I live in a state that barely takes care of chickens. I have a bird with crop stasis and she is barely moving. I just took her to the vet a couple of days ago. I wish I would have known that I could get her surgery. She's not eating and is very dehydrated. I don't know what to do. I have a feeling that I am going to lose her. I tried massaging the crop, but it's not helping. She's so skinny I can feel all of her bones, what do I do? I don't want to put her down, like you she's my child.

She's doing better with the medication and crop massaging. She almost had a prolapsed vent this morning. It got back together on its own. I don't know if you will ever get this but I'm hoping things will unfold for the better.
