Crop very swollen first thing in the morning — sour crop treatment?

Thanks! I uploaded the video to “threeblueducks’ album” and it also shows up on my profile under Gallery. Edit: she hasn’t done that thing again since she did on Thursday morning.

I massaged Robin’s crop again this morning, going in an upward direction like you said, and I got it to shrink about the same amount as yesterday, maybe a little less. She is really good about eating her coconut oil, and I have been giving her 2 teaspoons in the morning and evening. Today she ate almost all of her food as well and I got some probiotics to put in her water tomorrow. Is that a good idea even if she has sour crop developing?

Her crop feels fluid filled, not mushy/doughy, and as I was squishing it I wasn’t able to feel anything solid except maybe a few grains of feed. Her breath has started to smell sourer, so I agree that I should treat for sour crop.
You can give the probiotics is you wish. I'd start treating as Sour, but still give the coconut oil 2x a day.

I'm having trouble getting the video to load, I'll continue to try and give you my thoughts later.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I would do more then 2 tsp she may need quite a bit and massage it for as long as she can handle. I'm sorry she is going through that.
1tsp twice a day is adequate. The OP is giving 2tsp twice a day.

I was able to see the video. If she's not doing that anymore, then most likely she was coughing a bit due to the crop being fluid filled.

There's a difference in her beak now too. Did she injure it or are there lesions inside the beak?

That makes sense. No, she just had some coconut oil left on her beak that got covered in dirt because she was wiping it off on the ground.

Unrelated and probably not an issue, but I noticed (well, my brother did) that one of her nostrils (not the one pictured above) is a bit of a different shape, with a little notch out of it. It is healed now and not bloody/scabbed, so it was probably an injury that happened to her as a chick or that she was born with.

I haven’t started sour crop treatment yet but I will tomorrow.
