Wondering if anyone can give some insight on a particular cross I'm trying to reproduce again. I can't remember exactly what all we had, but for roosters I'm remembering Buff Orpington, Salmon Fav. and Jersey Giants. For hens I remember cinnamon queens, black australorps, wyandottes a variety of cochins.

Here's a picture of what I'm trying to reproduce. From the hatching, it seems like some had feathers on their feet and some didn't. The hens from this hatching looked simliar to the rooster-some may have even been white. It's just been too many years to remember-so sorry for being vague. Would love to make the cross happen again. Anybody have any ideas what it might be?

Cinnamon Queens would have been the hens. They being hybrids themselves would shoot off with random colorations, basically red to buff and white- those two colors of varying degree how much white and if mottled, splashed or that cool two tone you have going on there. Feather footed birds would have been fathered by Favorelle but that Rooster shown is most likely Buff Orpington father over Cinnamon Queen hen. The thing with hens is if several roosters are covering them then each egg is random as to which father it was. But if that rooster is what your looking to recreate then Buff roo over Cinnamon Queen would be worth a try though it may take many hacthlings to get one roo to look like that- would be clean legged birds too.

Yes, his color patern does lean towards the cinnamon queens. And he looks more like a Buff Orpington. The only thing that throws me is that this rooster has feathered feet, but no 5th toe. Not as puzzled by the 5th toe, as I am the feathered feet.

I don't suppose a SF & BO could produce this could they?

I wouldn't think so, though I'm just a guesser not genetic guru like some here. Salmon would have to be rooster for feathered feet. If he was a first generation cross and not a second then strongly believe it's a Cinnamon hen. Now that's a cross that would shoot out a myriad of possibilities.

is he feather footed? the mother is the cinnamon queen, but father can be any rooster, he seems to be homozygous for sex link gold(s+/s+) which eliminates the salmon faverolle father as they are sex link silver.

Yes he's feather footed. What other rooster would produce this 1st gen. type with a cinnamon queen? Maybe I should just ask that, lol?!

I'm sure if I had cochin hens I had some roo's. I'm going to contact the hatchery and ask if they keep records of past orders-so I can maybe track down. I would have had Buff, Partridge, Black, Blue, or Barred.
