Cross Beak genetics

Hi i wanted to know

can cross beak hens transfer their cross beaks to their off spring genetically

or is cross beak a case of freak accident/ in the shell too long

and has nothing to do with genes

read through the thread Diary of a cross beak. There's a little bit of information there that might help you. I know when my cross beak accidentally had babies last year, none have showed any problems at all and come Aug they will be a year old.

It can be either genetic or injury. IMO, regardless, I would not breed a crossbeaked bird.
