Cross beaked chick?

This chick is from my work. I bought her with a bunch of other chicks. I have had her for almost two weeks and now her beak is just now like that. So im not understanding why it happened. But I probably wont breed her so itll be fine.

One of my Golden Buffs seemed fine one day, and then her beak was crossed the next.....I think she may have got it caught in some fencing or something, because it went back to normal a little bit later in the day.......very strange.

I did read where a chicken that is cross beaked should have a deeper food dish so they can scoop food up easier......

I've got a little chick right now who didn't walk quite right at first, and is slower growing than the rest.....we affectionately have named him Wobbles. Everybody is fully feathered except him--he's half the size and half feathered......we're letting him live as long as nature does....

YAY FOR THE UNDERDOG! LOL

( I guess I'm a softy.) LOL

Good luck to you, whatever you decide.

We have a cross beak red star. She was part of the lot that got us started in chickens. She seems to do just fine. My husband thinks she's smarter than the other chickens. She lays eggs pretty much everyday. I wouldn't breed my red stars anyway so I don't guess it matters.

A lot of times they can do great! and usually turn out to be pretty special! But be warned that it will probably get worse as she gets older.
You can wet the food and make a mash but it is hard to have to give special treatment all the time.
I heard it can happen from humidity or a factor being off during incubation, but do not know for sure.
Good luck!!
