I noticed a week or so ago that one of my silkie chicks had a cross beak. I wasn't terribly concerned about it until I went down tonight and noticed another one did as well! I don't recall the second one when I saw the first. They are both eating, drinking, and growing well.....what has caused this? Can it be fixed? They are both from Cackle hatchery via my local feed store.

Going down now to check the rest!

Genetics is to blame, probably one of your chicks parents had crossed/scissor beak or their parents. I don't know if you were thinking of breeding these little chicks, but this condition can be passed on to their chicks. Here is a link to better understand scissor beak.
