Cross breeding duck breeds

Hello,
I have two older female ducks (a large magpie and a large khaki Campbell) and two, month old runner ducks (a silver one who is presumed to be female and a fawn and white one who is male). When the male duck starts breeding I would love to incubate some eggs. Can a runner mate with a magpie? Will it cause issues as the magpie are very different to runners?

Yes they can breed and you will get a very cute mix of the 2 and won't cause any problems. They maybe different in looks but they originally came from Mallard so they can breed and have offspring fine.

Well, if you want to know what they'll look like, this calculator could be pretty useful. (You know, after you've figured out the settings, how the german terminology can be translated not just to English, but to English terminology, and the genetics of your breeds.)

According to it, your fawn and white x khaki cross should result in fawn and white ducklings

Fawn and White x Magpie should get Blue and White ducklings (American Fawn and White contains the blue dilution gene)

Assuming that the silver is a splash runner, your ducklings should all be pretty white-looking.

Oh my gosh they are gorgeous. Yours has a lot more dark on her than mine. Love the coloring. Look forward to seeing her as she molts into her adult feathers hope you'll stick around.
