Cross breeding question!!

I am brand new to keeping ducks and kind of stumbled into it accidentally. I have a young mallard drake and just picked up a young Welsh Harlequin hen. I got her mostly to just keep him company but then I got to thinking about next spring. The gal I got the hen from said that she uses her hens to hatch out both duck and chicken eggs which is awesome since I seem to always been needing a broody mama. But can the mallard actually breed her too? And if so what would the offspring look like? Pictures are of her (today) and then the mallard from a few months ago

Yep, they can mate and produce viable/fertile offspring.

Yes, they are just two different breeds of the same species. The offspring will look like the mallard because the harlequin pattern comes from a recessive allele.
