Hi tarheelbirdy, we haven't really chatted before. What does your name mean out of interest!? Do you have ducks or chickens or both!?

I live in North Carolina, which is the "Tarheel State." (Each state in the US has a motto.) This derived from the days before the Civil War when NC produced turpentine and tar from pine forests, and was known as the "Tar" state.

I went to UNC, known as the UNC Tarheels. GO HEELS!

So, I used TarheelBirdy as my name as a nod to my school/team!

I have chickens and guineas. No ducks. I love them, but they are so messy!!!

Ohhh I see! That makes sense! Yeh we got ducks after being told they don't destroy your garden as much as chickens but I've not had chickens so can't compare but my ducks are certainly messy! Thinking we made mistake! They are lovely though if not particularly friendly at the moment.

This is a picture from a several years ago but it is one of my favorites of all us kids just fooling around and being kids .Sam and Jami are the little guys in the front and Andrew is standing next to me in the back. Andrew was always so happy and this picture for me helps remind me of that.

I always desired a daughter, maybe, she gone crazy between all that rusty men, when i lost my step-daughter, I feel very bad, like she was a part of me, the gentle and cute one
