Cross Frizzle Cochin Rooster with my Polish hen.

What will happen and will it happen if they breed? I’ve been getting eggs from my hen no fertilized eggs, and if they are how do I tell and what do I do to allow them to hatch?
Welcome to BYC!

I do not know what they will look like since I have not crossed those breeds.

It does sound like a fun project

I working on it now, my hen has 5 eggs so far but she isn’t sitting on them, she kinda just leaves them in her nest box, do I need to take them from her to incubate myself or let her do her thing?

Ok I am no expert so what does it mean for her to be broody? And is there a way to push into that or do I just need to go ahead and take over?
Hormones make a hen "broody". When she is broody, she is in hatching/mommy mode. That is the only time a hen will actually sit on eggs to hatch them. Some breeds are more prone to going broody than others. I dont believe Polish are known for going broody.

No way to push them into it, so you will need to intervene.

Ok thanks so much! Human mommy to the rescue!

Sounds like a great combination!

Check your eggs for fertility. You will have to crack a few open. I am just learning how to do this as well. If they look fertile, store them in a cool spot until you have enough, then place them in the incubator. Check the hatching threads on BYC for more details. I am doing a December Hatch-a-long if you want to join! ☺
