Crossbeak chick

How is she doing? I'm happy to help. I've got a lot of experience with crossbeak chickens. I'm part of a huge community that helps them thrive. I'd recommend keeping a weight on her (grams is preferred), so that you can ascertain that she is gaining some each day. Aim for 3 crop fulls a day, minimum. If she isn't able to successfully fill her crop , hand feeding may be required, syringe or torpedo feeding.
Hi Daily. Hope you don't mind me reaching out, but it's hard to find people with experience with cross beaks sometimes. I actually have two cross beak chicks (they are about 9 weeks old now). Cookie's cross beak is mild, but Koko's is pretty severe. They've gained weight pretty well and are healthy and active, but I'm concerned about Koko's tongue in the Winter, since it's exposed, as she can't close her mouth. Do you have any suggestions for how to deal with this issue, and make sure it doesn't freeze or cause other problems? (I'm not on FB so can't get onto any of the Cross Beak chicken pages).
