Crossbeak in new 6 month old Ameraucauna

It's my first time with chickens and I got 3 Ameraucauna that must be about 6 months old as they are laying already. Also got 5 Rhode Island Reds that are about 4 months old. Just brought them home and noticed that one of the Ameraucaunas has a pretty significant cross beak. She is big and looks healthy otherwise, also pretty bossy, lol. Should I just take her back or take her to the vet? Thanks!

Cross beak can not effect some birds, and effect others drastically. Is she able to eat and drink fine? If she is, she should be fine. I don't think there is a surgery to fix cross beak, i've never heard of one, and if there is, it oughta be pretty expensive.

hi i have a 4 moth old cross beak.i choose to keep her because she is a wonderful bird. i knew her fate if i returned her so i kept her. you can manage this by keeping the upper beak trimmed.i use toe nail clippers. you have to be willing to give her the extra care she needs depending on the severity of her condition. my girl leads a happy life. i knew if i returned her she would be culled and i didn't have the heart for it. if you don't want her or the responsibility then return her but if its not too severe she can lead a normal happy life with you.just make sure she's trimmed about once a month give her a deeper dish for food. you can look up cross beak and see if your willing to accept her special needs. if yes you will see with some help from you she will be fairly normal lay eggs and be happy.i wouldn't breed her because its genetic .but she can live a happy life. its your personal choice. if you decide to keep her and you have Any questions just pm me and il help the best i can. best wishes

Thanks for the replies. It is about 30-35 degree angle. I went out with a wider deeper dish and she went to town the second I put it down. I haven't seen her try to drink yet, should I get her a similar water dish too?
