@JustBabyMargo is an expert on Crossbeaks. ;)

As it's beak get longer, you can file it down with a regular nail file. That way it doesn't get too long. When it's older, you can use a grinder to file her beak down. (@JustBabyMargo knows more on that then I do.)

Love it. Lol. There isn’t much you can do about the growth. It’s a deformity in the skull. But wet mash and deep bowls have worked well for the crossbeak I have that isn’t too bad. The one I have that is worse I have to torpedo feed. He has a lot of trouble eating on his own. The cross will get worse until they’re about five months then stop.

I just called my 4 yo a dingus the other day 😂😂. He made up a jingle "I'm a dingus, I'm a dingus" sounds like the Amadeus song. Mother of the year right here

Tell me everything! Or share any step by step articles 😬😰
I found a dremel to be faster and less stressful than a regular nail file for trimming. Shine a flashlight through the beak and the part that shows through clear is okay to cut. I use nail clippers first the the dremel to round it off. But everyone has different techniques. And burrito wrapping is a must.

That’s so cute. I love that Amadeus song. Lol.
I’ve had people ask me why his name is Dingus and I tell them because dumba** sounds too mean. This guy will stick his feet in everything. He spills all of his water dishes any chance he can get. No matter what the dish is. Which is horrible because his water dish needs to be deep for him to drink out of it. So it’s like flood in the shavings. And he just doesn’t care.

Cute! I would wait a week or two and post new pictures of what it’s beak looks like then. It’s a bit young, and it doesn’t have too much overgrowth just yet. Generally when a chick develops crossbeak, it will worsen until they reach about 3-4 months. If you ever need help trimming your chick’s beak, feel free to tag me, I’ll try my best to help.
