crossbreeding

I have a buff silkie rooster and a black astrolorp hen. what will happen if I hatch those breed? is it dangerous to crossbreed them? Thanks

Only danger I see is ruining a perfect utility chicken line like the Australorp. Folks cross everything and anything all the time.

The only danger I see is total cuteness.

We are cross breeding my frizzle with my neighbors barred rock. I can't wait! We are keeping the offspring.

Silkie orpington crosses are very pretty! The offspring may not be very good layers, but pssssshhht. Who cares? If they are pets have fun with them and breed them to whoever you want!

They'll be good layers, a sort of mix of colors, and look like most other Silkie crosses out there. (small crest, small beard or no beard, some leg feathering, slightly dark skin)
