I am hoping to get some information about different varieties to breed with my Black Lavender Split Orpington roosters. I love there size and I want to find the best varieties to breed them with, besides Lavender. I would like to try my Black roosters with Buff Orpingtons, mainly because I have them. I would appreciate any input and especially some photos if anyone has them. Thanks so much!

you will get Solid black chicks if the Buff orps are not hiding any eumelanin diluters(white/blue/dun) the chicks will grow to show lots of red coloration on the otherwise black body,

Black orps(regardless if they are split for lav) are Extended black which is dominant to wheaten(buff orp) so the chicks will hatch like black orp chicks, now as they grow they will start showing different degree of restriction, you see most restrictors wont work on homozygous extended black birds BUT on E/eWh they may have some degree of restriction and Buff orps have about the most powerful restrictors you could put on a chicken genome
