Crossing Chickens?

Ok, so to start with, I have my adult breeding flock Sterling is my ameracauna/aracauna cross roaster, he's mainly white and black with a little red leakage. Blue is my blue red ameracauna roo and my absolute favorite. His entire underside is blue as well as his beard. I then have a splash ameracauna hen and a brown wild type ameracauna hen. They both lay blue eggs, the splash being smaller and the browns being more oblong. I then have three cross hen which I believe to all be bantam cochin x ameracauna crosses. They all lay pretty pale creamish eggs, one is solid black, one is black and gray with a partial beard, and then I think the third is from a GLW cochin bantam as she has partial gold lacing all over on her chest. All three have pea combs. From my first batch of chicks, all were crosses or green laying sex links. The crosses were all either black and white or orange and black, very bold colors. The orange and black is a pullet, I have a male version of her, he's just a darker orange with more black on his throat and shoulders. Next to her is I think two pullets also, black and white.

From my second hatch, the colors have been crazy, lots of browns this time around. The gray and black cross hen lays green eggs, I hatched a pullet from her, has a cochin type body with a pea comb, beard and feathered feet The other cross chicks are all various shades of brown, there's a pullet that is cream and blue, she's so gorgeous. There's some orange in a few, just not as bold, it's paler which I like. in the center left is the cream and blue pullet the group of 4 are all crosses too. There's lots of beards which I love on them. There's probably 15 or more in this batch, I just can't get pictures of everyone.

Oh and I also have three chicks that are from my splash hen, but I think blue is their father since they're such a blueish gray color

I currently have 4 straight run from TSC. A paint cockerel, a buff pullet and two buff cockerels.

The barred rocks I got from a hatchery as chicks, Murray Mcmurray, I love them. The ameracauna cross roo I got from a man a few minutes down the road. The blue red roo and wild type hen as well as the black and grey cross I got from my uncle, he buys and sells just about everything. The splash hen I got a town over from a couple. And the two other cross hens I got a while back from a guy that was getting rid of his chickens. I've also got bantam cochins I'm breeding, and then an order of whiting true greens (a group of 4), bielefelders (a pair), and more ameracaunas from murray mcmurray (two pullets two cockerels). The ameracauna pullets are really pretty, one is sorta cream and black the other is all white. I can't wait to cross her with Blue.

I don’t see any possible ameraucanas in this picture other than the splash hen. I do see at least three Easter eggers (most likely Easter egger x Easter egger crosses). That explains how you’re getting so many different colors, purebred ameraucana crosses would be much more uniform.

I honestly don't know a whole lot lol all I know is a non barred rooster over a barred hen produces barred cockerels and non barred pullets. Barred hens only have one barring gene and pass it to the male offspring, whereas a barred rooster has two barring genes and passes them down to both, so all chicks from a barred roo will all be barred regardless of gender. I'm not sure how I ended up with black pullets, but the gloss on their feathers is beautiful. You’re getting black pullets because a barred rock hen is black with one copy of the barring gene. So, she passes on the barring gene to the cockerels, but the pullets only get her black coloration, which is very strong and mostly covers a lot of other colors.

I literally said that majority of them are crosses. My splash hen and my blue red rooster are both pure. Blue red isn't a recognized color yet though

My last post with pictures were of pure ameracauna chicks, they're all the same color, they're from my splash hen and my blue red rooster. Everyone else are crosses, I said that already and yes thats why they're a such a variety in color between them.

I’m trying to say that they’re Easter egger x Easter egger crosses rather than first generation ameraucana crosses. Doesn’t mean they’re any better or worse, just explains the colors they and their offspring have. A lot of them have common EE colorations (except for the splash hen, who does look pure ameraucana). Are you referring to the red rooster in the picture of your flock?
