Hi guys I am raising a local auto sexing strain of geese and I am planning to get some white meat geese from G35 strain from grimaud freres France or some legarth geese.I want to cross the 2 breeds for making my geese more prolific egg layers as my geese lay on average 15 eggs per spring and the ones from france lay up to 52 on average. The size is basicly almost the same(6kgs dressed weight on average). But I heard alot of people tried to cross the local geese(in their area) with those white rhine geese and obtain great meat birds but with low fertility. So what do you think ?can this be true ? Should I cross my birds ?
