So, for the first time we've decided to participate in the full circle of life with our chickens. Our hen keeps getting broody, and this time I think we're ready. I've talked with the kids about what we'll have to do to the roos, and they're okay with it. My ten year old wants to be a chicken farmer, so wants to learn the butchering--we'll see, when the time comes;) I'm really curious what our chickies will look like. I've read some about the genetics, but I still can't quite figure it out. I was wondering if someone would like to help? Our rooster is a red EE. I'm most curious about whether we will get any that look like Rocks or GLW. Our other breeds are Marans, white Leg Horn, EE, and red Sex Link. SO EXCITED!!!

Any time you mix Easter Eggers with other breeds you are in for some interesting colors. My mixed EEs look mostly like the hen but every hatch has 2 or 3 very vibrant colored offspring.
