CROWING AGE

At what age did your Roosters start crowing? Are they Bantams or Large Breeds? Tell us about the strange sounds they make when they start crowing.

It was the coolest sound when my first rooster started crowing. He was about 3 and a half months old. He is a large breed rooster. It was a half crow with a strained voice.

I have 2 cockerels that just started crowing today.They are large breeds.I hatched them from my eggs,so I'm not really sure what breeds they are,but I think I have a Dominique and white leghorn. And my other young roo I think is a Welsummer and Rhode Island red.I think they are about 4 months old. @Robin37

I have a White Sultan, who hatched early April, (April fools?).
He was purchased assuming to be a female of a different breed.
He started crowing at 4 mo..
1st a single tone, that made me wonder what was in my back yard.
Then two tones, and right in front of me, so I knew it was him.
As the days have gone on three tones, then four.
Eer- i - err - errrr! ....... LOL!

But actually, it's not so funny.
I have neighbors, who's sleep I'm infringing on.
He's friendly to me, and comes up to be petted at times.
Otherwise, he's going around trying to keep the 2 Orpington, and 1 Brahma females in line.
ATTENTION!......Last call
He is going to Magnolia Bird Farm in Corona Saturday @ 9:AM - 8/12.
That's tomorrow, if no one in the BYC community claims him first.
He will be sold or re-homed by them.
Here he is, sad to see him go, but I'm forced to.
