The black chicken in the top picture looks just like my young rooster Pepper!!! What kind is it?? Pepper was a founding and Ive been told hes a peafowl mix, an Astralorpe or mix. Not being able to see the whole body I can't tell how far the resemblance goes. Here's my Pepper from last nights meander into the kitchen. He's about 15 weeks we're guessing. See the resemblance to yours at least in the face?View attachment 2832916View attachment 2832918
I couldn't resist; our one and only Fayoumi cockerel, who went to a new home shortly after these photos.
Someday maybe more will come here, but there's no room now!

Oh my gosh they're beautiful!I think 10 weeks is in the normal range for a young cockerel to start trying to crow.
I have some production blues. They're blue australorps mixed with RIRs. Here's one of my prettiest ones.
She's the only one who got this much red. Most of the others look like this and some are a blue. I do have one who is grey and bue also.Oh my gosh they're beautiful!
