I was positive these two were pullets. This morning the red one attempted a crow then the white one followed. They are 10.5 weeks old and I have already rehomed 2 EE roos from this group that crowed early and had the red comb but now I'm baffled. I watched a few videos of hens crowing on the web and an article said they will sometimes do it when there is no roo around or if one is establishing dominance but I'm just so baffled. Neither one has tried to establish dominance (my Buff Orp is the head pullet right now) and they are both sweet but the red one is not fond of being picked up. When they stand they are identical except for color. Please advise if possible as to roo or pullet.

Okay so after several attempts, I cannot load images from my computer. I will try and add photos from my phone after I submit.

Once you can get some photos uploaded, I'll be happy to help sex your chickens.

If someone shot me in the foot and made me run a mile it would be less painful than trying to upload pictures right now

I'm not sure about the first, but the second looks almost identical to one of mine, so I'd say pullet.

My husband thought he heard crowing at 7 weeks but it was just vocalizing. Wait and see.

They both look like pullets to me. Crowing does mean cockerel, though. Could it have simply been a loud, normal chick sound?
