My Ameraucana is trying to crow. She's coming up on 13 weeks old and barely has a comb at all! I bought her as a pulllet. I know mistakes happen, but I was so sure... Can y'all help confirm pullet or cockrell?

I don't have a rooster, so I know when there isn't a rooster sometimes a hen will take the rooster role. Is that what's happening here? Or do I need to rehome "him"?

I only have the one brown Ameraucana.

It’s an Easter Egger, and it is a roo, though quite the sneaky one.

😳 might be a rooster then. Is it for sure trying to crow and not just doing a weird version of a call? We’ve had a couple roosters grow up that were very friendly. It’s easier when they grow up together to establish the pecking order rather than introducing them as adults. Maybe he’ll be a sweetheart. 🤷‍♀️ I’ve had hens nastier than the roosters.

It's not loud at all! I don't know if it's because it's young and just working out it's voice box, or if it's a hen imitating a crow. I don't have a video, I just heard it for the first time yesterday after letting them out to forage, I'll try to get a video this evening. But I'm in such a tight knit neighborhood, I really cant' have a rooster. A single complaint could lose me all my chickens..
